In 2012, when Espersen’s company managers decided to invest in a modern industrial network, they first consulted with their two existing business partners: Intermec (now called Honeywell) and Cisco. These world leaders in the field recommended the SKK as a reliable and experienced integrator of networking solutions for processing and warehouse environments.
The Espersen Group is a world leader in the processing of frozen fish blocks, fillets, and breaded fish products. Food quality and safety are Espersen’s highest priority, which is evidenced by the numerous certifications the group holds, including HACCP. Their plants in Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Russia, and Vietnam supply a range of clients in both Europe and the United States. Their customers include chains like Tesco and McDonald’s.
Espersen Polska LLC is headquartered in Koszalin and employs approximately 1300 people. It is one of the largest fish processing plants in Poland.
Espersen was originally interested in building a wireless network for their Koszalin branch. Once they had made all necessary measurements, prepared a preliminary design, and had held further consultation meetings, SKK proposed a broader and more comprehensive solution. The concept SKK presented involved network unification for all of the branches of this ultinational business, including the addition and construction of a WLAN, and organization and reconstruction of the existing LAN. The networks would be organized by new rules not only in industrial zones, but also in office areas. Espersen’s response to the solution was highly favorable, so they moved forward to implementation.
